Photos were taken by me. This event took place in Grants Pass, OR in front of the Josephine County Courthouse.

On August 15 of 2024, a group of residents protested in front of Josephine County Courthouse. This protest was in favor of returning Roe V Wade into law. Something that our legislative had overruled in 2022. Which not only removed a great deal of women’s rights to their bodily autonomy but also hindered our healthcare system.

During this protest for Banned Off Our Bodies we not only witness an incredible number of protesters, but also the diversity that stands united. From a range of mature individuals, of both genders, to those that are much younger. Even those who drove by shared their support by cheering on for the protesters.

It was heartwarming to witness such unity for a common cause. Even though Josephine County has a greater number of members of the opposing party, there are still those who support women’s rights. Thanks in part to Josephine County Democratic Party for organizing such a protest to showcase to those that there are people who still care to fight for what is right. Not only to return the right to our bodies but also to make sure that future generations continue to have their rights for autonomy.
