Work Horse

What is your all time favorite automobile?

I don’t have an absolute favorite, but I do have somewhat of a range. Typically very big and bold vehicles. Such as trucks, vans, SUV, and construction vehicles.

Stuff that’s built to be a workhorse. To be able to withstand getting hit and overused to its full capacity, yet still being able to handle it.

That’s basically the reason I always wanted to own a truck as my first vehicle. It’s functionally built to take on a lot of things and still keep the driver safe. Even when quality is questionable, the fundamentals are still strong.

The downside to trucks, commercial trucks, and construction vehicles is the expense maintenance to keep it going. Which is worth every dollar.

Then a step down are the Vans and SUVs. They’re also built similar to a truck, but are a powerhouse in their own right. They have almost the same workload, but can hold a lot more compare to a truck bed.

Vans and SUVs are built to take a hit and keep what’s inside safe. The quality does go into question based on a number of factors, from brand to the job you’re trying to achieve.

For not work related vans and suv, aka for passengers only, this is where the major difference comes to play. Some people aim for looks (and features), but risk quality. Not to mention have to pay a higher price for luxury.

Then there’s those who simply want quality and reliability. Not saying you can’t find that in a luxury model van/suv, but it’s not always possible for the an average person’s budget. This is where functional outweighs looks.

For example, I temporarily given up my dream to own a Toyota Tundra. All because I can’t afford the truck and its maintenance. But I wanted this truck because it hit all my checkmarks for makes an amazing vehicle. From the ground clearance, the powerhouse of a vehicle it is, the reliability that comes from the Toyota brand, all the way to my safety concerns (hence wanted a vehicle that can handle anything.) So I decided to seek out getting an SUV / crossover.

Typical cars are too low to the ground, and are mainly cruisers. They look nice, gets the job done to go from point a to b. But they’re so small and I have an issue with hitting my head a lot. Yet, out of all vehicle types, cars are usually the most affordable.

Almost lost track of the topic, lol.

But yeah. I like automobiles that are built to handle different types of jobs.
