As I had recently shared, my laptop has officially retired — and with it, much of my ability to continue writing and editing efficiently. To keep my creative work alive, I’ve launched a fundraiser on Ko-fi to raise funds for a new laptop. The goal also covers any necessary fees and/or taxes involved.
To bring visibility to this fundraiser, I’m reviving a passion project that’s been on hold for far too long. Which is:
Guns and Heels
This story takes place in a futuristic Alternate Universe (AU) where characters from one of my other novels are reimagined in a new light.
Originally, these characters debuted in a novel series called “The Red Dragon,” which I had published on Amazon before pulling it to begin a full rewrite. That rewrite is now out of the draft stage and in the editing phase, more details will be shared soon.
To celebrate the return of Guns and Heels, I’ll be releasing chapters and bonus content as fundraiser milestones are reached. The first chapter will be free for everyone on Friday, July 18, and will be posted across platforms: WordPress, Ko-fi, AO3, Tumblr, and SquidgeWorld.
Chapter Unlock System
– For every $10 raised, 2 chapters will be unlocked.
– This continues until we hit the first $100 milestone.
– After that, 1 chapter will unlock per $10 raised.
Author Bonuses at $100 Milestones
Reaching $100, $200, $300, etc. will unlock exclusive Author Bonuses, such as:
– Behind-the-scenes draft notes (past & future chapters)
– Worldbuilding insights
– Bonus side chapters (canon and non-canon extras)
– Q&A sessions
– Character sketches
– Character sheets
– And more!
What is Guns and Heels?
Set 3,000 years after many world-changing wars and climate disasters, three mega-corporations now dominate the global landscape:
– Elf Corp: a powerful security empire, hiding secrets no one’s supposed to know.
– Dragon Corp: a groundbreaking tech conglomerate.
– Blood Corp: a healthcare giant that always seems to know too much.
At the center of it all is the 30-year-old CEO of Dragon Corp, Kensi Draven, a man haunted by loss and heartbreak. That is… until a fated night at a gay bar changes everything.
What starts as a birthday celebration becomes something far more mysterious and meaningful when Kensi meets a helmeted bartender nicknamed Queen, who might be the one person who sees through the walls Kensi’s built.
If this sounds like your kind of story, from full of tech intrigue, found family, queer romance, and dramatic flair, come back Friday for the free launch of Chapter 1!
And if you’d like to support the project and help bring more chapters to life, check out the Ko-fi fundraiser.
Thank you so much for your time and support.
