Describe a man who has positively impacted your life.
My art teachers in elementary school. Every single one of them. One was colorblind, the other was who inspired me to keep drawing along with inspiring my writing.
There’s also my science teacher in elementary school and high school. My social studies teachers from elementary to college. My math teacher in college. Also 2 of my college teachers, one was for typography class and the other was color theory. Both very inspirational and challenged me to improve my craft and knowledge.
And most importantly, my grandpa! Even with a language barrier (he didn’t understand English, and my Spanish was average, along with me having difficulty communicating), he was the kindest man in the world, and inspired me to be a good person. After all, he was more a father to me than the male I grew to call dad.
I find it funny how a lot of the men who left a lasting impact in my life were mainly teachers. Especially with how what they taught are my favorite subjects. From science, art, social studies, and math. And the male figure in my life who showed me what it takes to be a man was my grandfather.
From being critical of the world around me to admitting the smallest of details is amazing. Knowing how to show love without words is very encouraging.
Even after my grandma passed grandpa still held his head high. He shared his love and kindness to his family to his dying breath. That shows true dedication and strength. Especially when he refuse to eat another food that wasn’t what his wife used to cook for him.
So I take all the lessons I’ve learned from him and my teachers to heart.
