Pressure of the Update

I’m working on so many writing projects, both personal and fan base. As I work on them, I feel overwhelmed on always updating on a set schedule and feeling like I’m rushing. I get I should keep constant and at least update weekly, or sometimes daily. But it feels too much and like I’m slipping.

During my time writing my fanfic Marriage, I updated daily. This was because I had a so much to write and just couldn’t stop. But instead of editing, I just uploaded right away. This time around for the sequel, I’m trying to perfect it and edit before I post. But doing it a chapter at a time is slowing me down and making not feel passionate for the project.

This can be said about my Soulmate project. Which I’m writing a chapter weekly and editing right away, so I can post. But then I lose track of what I was aiming for in the next chapter. It to where I had to write key notes for each upcoming chapter.

Yet for my prequel, Invader, it’s more about editing. This is because I already was working on the 10th chapter before I chose to scrap it, and restart my second book. So me posting Invader on Wattpad is easier because the main structure is already there. And for my second book, in the Red Dragon series, I scraped the 3 chapters I had. I decided to start over with a different outlook. And I feel more confident about this draft of the book. I even renamed it.

So I was thinking of just writing a couple of chapters before going through the process of updating my online stories. This would mean I won’t be posting weekly, but it would mean I will have a better piece than always having to stop.

Currently I posted up 4 full chapters for Invader, which I’m happy for. I’m working on chapter 4 for Soulmates. But I won’t post that until I also get done chapters 5 and 6 down.

I’m going to work my butt off to make the best story I can.
