Rant 032

Watching a video about overconsumption and made me wonder about kcup. Mainly like the single shots of coffee.
Which led to the rabbit hole of would getting one of those machines worth it.
The price alone is wild. Then the amount of coffee in one kcup is laughable. Not to mention the machine is huge and takes up a great deal of counter space.
At one point I did want a keuric coffee maker but all the logistics of dealing with one isn’t worth it.

Plus I like controlling how much coffee I want, along with it’s cheaper to buy coffee beans to ground up. There’s also the fun fact that once my paper coffee filters are done imma be buying the reusable filter. I do have a reusable filter but that’s when I used to manually pour water to make coffee. Now I use that filter for my loose teas. But if my standard coffee machine fails me I have alternatives. Yet, it really puts it into perspective of all the things I can live without.

Not to mention, I hated having to run multiple cups of water to clear out the filter of my sister’s Keuric just so I can heat up some water for tea. That was the most frustrating thing about those machines. At that, my other sister and her daughter have 2 Keuric (last I checked) but still prefer coffee made from the type of espresso kettle you hear on the stove.

Like my mom’s house had 2 Keuric, 1 coffee maker, and the espresso kettle. The only one who used the coffee maker was my oldest sister before she moved out. I appreciate my parents for being old fashioned when it comes to making coffee and tea. But the kettle was one of those things you have to babysit if you don’t want burnt coffee.
