I miss having protein powder 😂 Gonna buy some next month. Since it was the only thing keeping me motivated to do resistance training.
Like I tried do some simple resistance workouts yesterday and today, but I feel like shit. Not to mention it took everything in me to push myself through without folding.
Yet, when I was using protein powder before and after a good workout I was able to last longer. Along with pushing myself through a decent exercise session.
At first I was really against supplements for exercise, mostly because I didn’t get the whole point. I was real heavy on getting all my nutrients through eating a natural diet. It did help with my iron levels, so I thought it would be the same with everything else.
Yet, during the few months I was using protein powder I was able to get through a workout without feeling like shit, and lasted longer. Not saying that my lack of consistency isn’t to blame for not being able to do a full workout. I’m simply stating that I feel more weaker at a faster rate.
Which this is very interesting. Especially when my cardio hasn’t been affected by lack of supplements. I was shy 10 minutes for doing a full treadmill marathon. So, that area of my body is still improving greatly.
The reason I paused taking protein powder was for 2 reasons. The price and the high calories. I’m trying to keep a low calorie deficit diet, so I got overwhelmed by how high of carbs were in this form of supplements. The price is also ridiculous but reasonable in a few cases.
But my muscles feel weak. It’s getting difficult to maintain a high intensity workout without being able to push through. This is fun to figure out. Especially when it comes to my workout goals.
