As always, brain had a thought. Simply why am I allergic to bananas and not plantains. Of course I started to figure it’s because plantains have to be cooked.

Anyway, looking up some of the allergy things a person who’s allergic to bananas should avoid it became confusing.

The basic list is:
“avocadoes, kiwi, carrots, celery, apples, chestnuts, potatoes, papaya, and melons.”

I’m not allergic to avocados, carrots, celery, apples, potatoes, and a range of melons.

I do have an allergic reaction to kiwi and chestnuts.

My allergic reactions are very mild. Which I’m grateful for. I’m also sensitive to a range of foods and medications. I’m now kinda wondering if the allergic reaction is more of a sensitivity thing and not an allergy thing. Even though I did wear slippers that were made with something that was banana in origin, I think latex. When I did so my feet swelled up, clearly show casing I was allergic to the material.

But I’m not allergic to many gloves, glues or tapes. It’s probably has to do with other factors. Again, I’m probably just allergic to the fruit. And depending how things are manufactured will probably play a role on what other products I’m allergic to.

I don’t know. I’m just thinking out loud. But it does kinda explain why I can’t eat certain things too often and too much. After a while of eating avocados, carrots, apples, and potatoes I get sick of it to the point I can’t eat them. Maybe that has to do with my allergies. Like I have a certain limit before my body tells me to stop.

Kinda wondering if I should try eating a banana again and see how I react. But I don’t want to waste a whole batch if my personal experiment goes wrong. Like if if I can’t finish a whole banana because my body confirms I have an allergy.

Super sucks. Because bananas used to be my favorite fruit growing up. I didn’t understand the side effects I had were allergies. I had always thought everyone felt the same. That was until I started practicing being more mindful of what my body was trying to tell me when it came to my physical health.
