Physical Health 011

Today was fun experiment. Tried out TVP for 2 meals, and it actually filled me up. Would definitely help when comes to lazy days where I don’t wanna prepping meat products (chicken, pork, fish). Which is always a good thing.

I want to aim for things that would fill me up, isn’t a lot of calories, taste great, and I don’t have to eat much of it. It’s a bonus if it’s quick and easy to make.

Not sure if I have mentioned it before, especially not on here directly. But I always wanted to go as close to vegetarian, without completely eliminating meat products from my diet. Of course, when I first attempt to make this dietary change fam (besides being unsupportive) made it difficult to keep up with the lifestyle changes I was trying to make. It got to the point that I gave up and doubled down on fast food and sweets.

Since I’m talking about it. My original plan was to have a majority vegetarian diet throughout the week. With one day a week I would eat meat. Just so I don’t lose out on other nutrients I can’t get from plant based protein. This doesn’t include eggs. That was going to be the only animal product I would eat regularly.

So, when more vegetarian food products started becoming more available it made me happy. Because there would be a chance I can enjoy some of my favorite foods without breaking my diet. Of course there’s still a lot of drawbacks. Like learning I’m allergic to bananas, kiwis, and mushrooms.

Because of my allergies it makes it almost impossible to rely on plant based foods. Since I have to be extra careful. Then there’s the prices, quantity compared to their meat counterparts. Plus the process in making these products.

Like, I didn’t want to be vegetarian because I wanted to protect animals. There’s always a way to farm and be environmentally friendly and animal friendly. I wanted to be vegetarian for my health.

There’s always whole point of eating more vegetables, and fruits. With being vegetarian it’ll make it fun because of all the ways one could make vegetarian taste amazing, without added so much grease and salt.

So, since I’m older and trying to get on track with my health, I once again aiming for the vegetarian type of diet. But I just won’t be as strict as I wanted to be. Gotta start small before I can go big.

But I will say, I don’t like preparing tofu. That’s something I gotta get better at.
