Found out the reason for my sleep and digestion issues I been having for the past few days. Along with why i was gaining weight, even when I have been sticking to my diet.

I haven’t been drinking enough water.

The day before yesterday, or at least the extreme AM of yesterday, I looked up what if not drinking enough water disturbs sleeping. And guess what. Dehydration DOES affects sleep and everything else. From digestion to weight management, the nervous system.

Granted, for a while I have been very mindful of drinking plenty of water. But I guess I got lazy and didn’t notice. Even though I was still losing weight, and my sleep was decent. Yet, eventually it all caught up to me.

So, after my hour of sleep yesterday, I made sure to fill 2 water bottles. The one from the hospital, which holds 20 oz, and my gym on, that holds 16.5 oz. Thankfully that’s all I had to run on, since I wasn’t able to eat breakfast.

Granted, yesterday I weighed 240 lbs. For the whole day of drinking water, regardless of what I was eating, I’ve noticed a huge improvement of my wellbeing. From my energy levels being stable to being satisfied when I ate. Heck, my pee started to move away from looking like apple juice.

Then I was also feeling sleepy at an “early” time vs trying to find sleep in the next day. At the end of the day even my constipation I was having recently was getting better.

Nothing like finally being able to fully empty my bladder and not feeling like imma faint. And this morning I was able empty out everything and feeling great. Not to mention, I had a restful sleep last night and I feel energized this morning.

Plus my weight is now 248 lbs. I basically was holding onto 2 pounds of constipation. Which is crazy. So happy I figured out the cause for my issue these past few days and seeing the results of trying to fix it.

Just like figuring out foods that doesn’t agree with my system, it’s also a huge relief to learn the habits that is also making my health decline. At that, it also points out the issue I had my whole life and didn’t realize it.

I’m looking forward to my annual doctors appointment. I want to see if I’m still in the Malnutrition category. Even with adding healthy foods and drinking more water, it can’t erase years of bad health habits. I just hope I’m on the right track to move away from being malnourished.

Because last year when I saw my doctor, I was still in the early phase of changing my diet. So I was still concerned malnourished. Hopefully this year with the increased of healthy eating and more exercise, my blood work will show greater improvement.

And hopefully when I get top surgery I’ll be in such a healthy state that my body will be able to handle such an intense trauma. Even though I haven’t had any complications from my hysterectomy or wisdom teeth removal, doesn’t mean I can’t have issues with future surgeries.

So it’s every important to me to be as healthy as possible when I get a surgery that will effect my center of gravity. Along with it being a surgery that will temporarily affect my whole system because a large mass has been removed.

I’m looking forward to that day. Which makes getting healthy even more important. I don’t want to lose weight just for my health and to do all the things I never been able to. But I also want to get healthy to be able to have a greater chance of getting through surgeries without complications.

I’m not just talking about top surgery either. As life goes on there’s always a chance I will have to go through lifesaving surgeries. Like bone replacements (knees, hips). Potentially heart surgery, due to family history of heart problems and the fact I’m on mandatory hormone therapy for life.

Even though I hope I don’t go through something that requires surgery, I can never rule it out. I’m grateful I got to a point in my life I’m not terrified of surgeries and that I have more confidence that everything will be okay. So all that’s left is making sure I’m physically fit to deal with it.
